Begin the morning at Dragon Hill on Santa Cruz Island. Following a dry landing, hike through different coastal zones and pass a brackish lagoon where Greater Flamingos and other wading birds may be observed. Continue toward the dry forest in search of colorful, reintroduced Galapagos Land Iguanas roaming freely, while higher points along the route provide views of the anchorage and surrounding islands. In the afternoon, make a wet landing at Chinese Hat, a small cone-shaped islet characterized by rugged lava formations. Follow a short circular trail among colonies of marine iguanas and search for Galapagos Penguins around the rocks and water. Finish with snorkeling in the clear turquoise channel between Chinese Hat and Santiago Island, where sea lions, tropical fish, and white-tipped reef sharks are among the marine life described in the itinerary.
