Dia a Dia
Dia 1: Baltra Airport & Santa Cruz Highlands
Upon arrival at Baltra Airport, a Hermes guide will welcome you to the Galapagos Islands and escort you to Seymour dock, where you will board the superyacht and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, the journey continues into the lush and misty Santa Cruz Highlands, where the changing environment becomes evident as you ascend into the wet zone. At a private reserve, you will encounter Galapagos Giant Tortoises roaming freely in their natural habitat, with opportunities to observe them grazing, resting, and bathing in mud. The visit also explores Santa Cruz’s volcanic history through impressive lava tunnels formed by ancient molten rock and large craters created by collapsed volcanic chambers. The experience brings together the geology, wildlife, origins, and conservation story of the Galapagos.
Dia 2: Dragon Hill & Chinese Hat
The morning begins at Dragon Hill on Santa Cruz Island, named for its once-endangered population of Galapagos Land Iguanas. Following a dry landing, you will hike through different coastal zones and pass a brackish lagoon while looking for Greater Flamingos and other wading birds. As the trail reaches the dry forest, you will have opportunities to observe reintroduced land iguanas roaming freely and enjoy views of the anchorage and surrounding islands from higher points. In the afternoon, you will visit Chinese Hat Islet. After a wet landing, a short circular trail reveals marine iguanas resting on rugged lava and offers opportunities to look for Galapagos penguins. Snorkeling takes place in the turquoise channel between Chinese Hat and Santiago Island, where the source describes encounters with sea lions, tropical fish, and white-tipped reef sharks amid a submerged volcanic landscape.
