Make a wet landing on Rabida Island and immediately encounter its distinctive deep-red sand, created by the high iron oxide content in the lava. Follow a trail to a brackish lagoon while searching for Greater Flamingos and White-cheeked Pintails, then climb through a Palo Santo forest toward a lookout with panoramic views over the red bay, mangroves, and nearby islets. Snorkeling offshore provides opportunities to swim with sea lions and colorful reef fish and possibly encounter juvenile sharks and stingrays. In the afternoon, explore Bartolome Island and its famous Pinnacle Rock. Follow a wooden boardwalk toward the summit for sweeping views of the volcanic landscape and crescent-shaped beaches before snorkeling in the cool, clear waters around Pinnacle Rock in search of Galapagos Penguins, sea lions, and possibly large sea turtles.
