Arrive at Baltra Airport, where a Hermes guide will welcome you to the Galapagos and escort you to Seymour dock to board the superyacht and enjoy lunch. Your first afternoon takes you into the lush, misty Santa Cruz Highlands, where a private reserve provides an opportunity to encounter Galapagos Giant Tortoises roaming freely in their natural habitat. Watch these iconic animals grazing, resting, and bathing in the mud before turning your attention to the island’s volcanic origins. Walk through impressive lava tunnels created by ancient molten rock and observe large craters formed by the collapse of volcanic chambers. This opening excursion combines two defining elements of the archipelago—extraordinary wildlife and dramatic geology.
Dia 2: Dragons, Penguins & an Underwater Volcanic World
Begin at Dragon Hill on Santa Cruz Island with a dry landing and a hike through contrasting coastal environments. Pass a brackish lagoon while searching for Greater Flamingos and other wading birds, then continue toward the dry forest to observe reintroduced Galapagos Land Iguanas roaming freely. Higher sections of the trail provide views across the anchorage and surrounding islands. In the afternoon, make a wet landing at Chinese Hat, a distinctive cone-shaped islet. Follow a short circular trail among rugged lava flows where colonies of marine iguanas bask and Galapagos Penguins may be seen around the rocks and water. The day culminates with snorkeling in the turquoise channel between Chinese Hat and Santiago Island, where the itinerary describes opportunities to swim with sea lions, tropical fish, and white-tipped reef sharks amid submerged volcanic scenery.
